Pagans, Hippies and Travellers - The Wicker Man effigy in the Green Field art Glastonbury Festival. June 1992. There are many folkloric myths surrounding druids and the Wicker Man. Julius Caesar's diaries mention the ritual burning of prisoners and criminals as far back as 55 BC. Todays Druids are probably as much influenced by the 1973 ‘The Wicker Man’ movie, than by any historical evidence, which is non existent. However there is some rare historical evidence that shows Celtic races did burn and sacrifice animals and people at times.

On Monday 25th August 1992 after another refurbishment at The Watford Gap Services. it was time celebrate! So the management hosted a ‘Rock ’n’ Roll’ themed gala.

Southend-on-sea May Bank Holiday Monday.
Beach welfare officers keep a close eye on the public at Southend-on-sea beach. By midday coast guards had already reported several people in trouble - The mudflats of Southend-on-sea lying on the Thames estuary, are notorious and people often don’t take account the low-tides. A loosening of social distancing measures by the UK government during the Coronavirus outbreak, had resulted in people flocking to the Essex seaside resort as temperatures reached 25c. during the May Bank Holiday Monday.
