Bob - Joe’s brother - had a Pie and Mash shop on Broadway market which closed its doors for the last time on Christmas Eve 2019 after a120 years in business. Pat Sullivan 63 has lived in Hoxton all her life and really enjoys coming to the pie and mash on Hoxton Street. “Its something that we’ve been brought up with. I used to be neighbours with Kim (Cooke) when we was younger, so I’ve known her for many years.”

Jamie (47) orders two pie and mash. “I’m a young man believe it or not” - Jamie says he’s been coming to Cooke’s Pie and Mash since he was a teenager. - “My grandad was actually born in 1899 and my nan was born in the 1900s because our mum had us late, there is literally just one generation from a hundred years ago”.
